PE.- PE - We are one week away from our virtual field day! Find as much of the equipment as you can, but don't stress if you are missing something! You will be able to modify most of the activities by using similar items from around your house. After gathering all of the equipment, do you have any guesses what some of our field day games might be? Try to create some games using this equipment as practice this week!
Equipment needed:

PE.- Indoor Bocce Ball (you will need 4 pairs of socks in a matching color, 4 pairs in a different matching color, and 1 pair in a third color) Bocce ball works on underhand throws and rolls, make sure you are stepping with your opposite foot when you throw! Divide into 2 teams (teams can have 1-4 players on each) The off color pair of socks is the target ball, which is thrown first. Then teams alternate underhand throwing or rolling their socks to see who can get closest to the target pair. You must throw underhand and you have to throw from the same spot the target ball was thrown from. Only one team scores per round, 1 point is given for each ball that is closer to the target ball than the opponent's closest ball. The team that scored gets to throw the target ball for the next round. Play to a set number of points (usually 16).

PE.- Don’t forget to be tracking your daily physical activity in an activity journal. Do your best to get 60 minutes of activity every day and to include a variety of activities! Our fitness challenge of the week is to play Uno fitness, all you need is a deck of Uno cards (a regular deck of cards will also work).
Uno/Card Deck Fitness
Assign an exercise for each color of Uno cards (or each suit if using regular cards). Ex. Blue=jump roping, Yellow=up and down the stairs, Green=sit ups, Red=push ups. Any cards that are a color without a number are automatically 5. Wild cards are 5 as well but you get to choose which exercise you want to complete. All cards are placed face down and each player will pick one card at a time. Once drawn, you must complete the designated exercise with the number on the card. Ex. I pick a yellow 8. I will run up and down the stairs 8 times and return to the deck to draw another card. Each time you complete the task, you will put the card in your pile. At the end of the deck you will count to see who has the most cards. If you would like to make it harder, try adding or multiplying 2 to each card!

PE.- Keep tracking your activity in an activity log, remember we are trying to get at least 60 minutes of activity every day! For this week, we are going to continue with juggling. Keep practicing with 2 items (plastic bags, socks, wiffle balls, tennis balls) until you feel comfortable. The pattern for 2 items is toss, toss, catch, catch. Double check that the item is ending in the opposite hand from where it started. When you are ready, add a 3rd item. Hold 2 in 1 hand and 1 in the other. Toss 1 item at a time, alternating hands. The hand that has 2 items will toss first. The item should still be going across your body to your opposite hand. If you get frustrated, go back to 2 items for a little bit before you try 3 again
